QBE Insurance have generously awarded Lucy Air Ambulance for Children (Lucy AAC) a £50,000 donation after hearing an inspiring story about the charity from one of their employees.
QBE Insurance shortlisted 40 small charities that they would like to help this year and gave their employees the opportunity to nominate four charities to receive donations between £25,000 – £50,000. Jodie Howard, an employee at QBE Insurance, was delighted to see Lucy AAC as one of the shortlisted charities. She made her nomination with a story about a little boy called Alfie – her nephew. She told them about when Alfie was born two months early over 200 miles from home, that Lucy AAC flew him and his mum back from London to Leeds so that he could receive specialist neonatal care closer to home.
We would like to thank QBE Insurance and Jodie for her nomination. This is one of the biggest donations we have ever received and will enable us to help seven extra families this year.
