David took on a 2.6 Challenge and raised over £700 for Lucy AAC by running 2.6 miles everyday for 26 days.
David was set to take part in the 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon but was disappointed to find out it had been postponed to later in the year due to the escalating Coronavirus situation. Knowing how important his fundraising was to Lucy Air Ambulance for Children (Lucy AAC), he sprung into action and started to fundraise through his own 2.6 Challenge.
The 2.6 Challenge was created by charities across the UK in response to all fundraising events being cancelled or postponed due to the pandemic. The challenge encourages fundraisers to dream up their own fundraising challenge with the theme of 2.6 or 26 which links to the London Marathon’s 26-mile route.
Putting his marathon training to good use, David decided to run 2.6 miles everyday for 26 days. He documented every run on Instagram to his followers and supporters, showing his dedication to fundraising and spreading awareness of our Charity. Over the 26 day challenge, he raised £737 for Lucy AAC which is enough to fund a specialist doctor on a Lucy AAC flight!
Could you take on your own challenge to help Lucy AAC in these challenging times?
