One year after Lucy AAC flew his nephew, James challenged himself to run one mile every hour for 24 hours and raised over £2,900 for Lucy AAC.
James wanted to help families just like his after Lucy AAC transferred Charlie over 300 miles to a local hospital in Leeds when he was born nine weeks early in Plymouth. He decided to challenge himself to run one mile every hour for 24 hours to raise funds that would help fly another child to hospital.
James took on the challenge on Saturday 13th June. He was joined throughout the challenge by friends, family and his teammates from the local rugby club who joined him for one mile each. James finished the challenge on Sunday with his sister-in-law Amy (Charlie’s Mum) by his side. He managed to run over 26.2 miles (to make sure he ran further than the distance of a marathon) and raised £2,936 for Lucy AAC!
Could you take on your own challenge to help Lucy AAC in these challenging times?
