James raises £2,400 by taking on a double marathon distance for Lucy AAC

James White challenged himself to run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours to raise funds for Lucy AAC.

On Friday 28th May 2021, James White started his challenge. He was encouraged throughout the challenge by his supportive friends and family who joined him for some of the 4 mile runs. He completed the distance within 48 hours and raised £2,441 for Lucy Air Ambulance for Children.

This is the second running challenge that James has taken on since Lucy AAC flew his nephew in March 2019. In May 2020, he ran 1 mile every hour for 24 hours and raised £3,091 for Lucy AAC. Between his two challenges, he has raised over £5,500 for Lucy AAC!

James continues to support Lucy AAC to help families just like his after Lucy AAC transferred Charlie over 300 miles to a local hospital in Leeds when he was born nine weeks early in Plymouth. You can read Charlie’s full story here: www.lucyaac.org.uk/transfer-stories/charlie/

Thank you James for continuing to support us with these incredible challenges. Your determination really shines through during those late night/very early morning runs. We also really appreciate how much you shared on Instagram about the challenge and our charity. Thank you also to all of James’s supporters who donated and everyone who joined him for part of the challenge.

Could you take on your own challenge to support Lucy AAC?

Whether you take on a sponsored silence, hold a virtual workout class or danceathon, or see how long you can keep a balloon in the air, you will be raising money to fly seriously ill babies and children to hospital. Find out about how you can help Lucy AAC here:
